A project from class

What is the Origin of Evil and Did God Create it?

From what I have learned and prayed about I feel that nothing is out side of God, he is eternal and the creator of all things.
The Bible many times sites that he is the author and finisher, the beginning and the end, the creator of ALL things. Because we believe that God is the creator of all things we must accept that there are no strings attached to the word ALL.
In John 1:3 he states that "Through him all things were made; with out him nothing was made that has been made."

If we accept that is the ultimate force in t he universe then we must accept that nothing can rival him. In turn agreeing to that point means that 'evil' is not his arch rival like some comic book story.
In Colossians 1:17 it says that "He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
THis must mean that all concepts are held together by God and are not an issue for him.

As for when evil was created it is a bit trickier, it could be said that it was when Lucifer fell, or when Adam and Eve first sinned.
FOr me it isn't in such 'time line perfect' categories.
I feel it may have been created when the fear of loosing the eternal became more important than the Eternal (God).

In Short if we believe that the bible is true, and that "God is before all things, and by him all things consist (There is no no angel, principality or power that exists with out him)" then we accept that there is no other logical explanation about the origin of Evil other than to say God Created it.
That also means that is has a purpose in Gods plan, to bring glory to his name (plan).
